Video of the Week: Rebecca Black’s Friday Song

By: Nikki Little

Watch out Justin Bieber. Rebecca Black has entered the teenybopper pop scene. And the video for her song, Friday, is blowing up on YouTube.

Blowing up because it’s a great song? Nope. It’s actually so horrible that it’s hilarious. I’m pretty sure that’s why it has more than 15 million views on YouTube.

One could easily assume this is a parody of cheesey pop songs by teenage stars. Rebecca does stereotypical activities with her friends throughout the video, the lyrics are so meaningless that it’s comical and she sings like a monotonous robot. However, it seems this is no parody. This is the real deal, folks. Enjoy.
