Ditch the Drab Corporate Photos & Schedule an Outdoor Photography Session
By: Jennifer Carey
It’s that time of year. The kids are getting ready to go back to school, the days are getting shorter and before you know it we will be wearing jackets and shoveling snow. I’m sorry, but facts are facts!
Now would be a good time (before the white stuff falls) to consider taking some new, outdoor photography for your collateral materials and website.
During the summer, the days are longer, blue skies are plentiful, flowers are in bloom and the foliage is a nice lush green – all of which add to the vibrancy of any location. Technically speaking, in the summer, the sun is at a much higher angle in the sky than any other season, making it an ideal time to shoot exteriors as the higher elevation enables light to reach even the darkest, most confined spaces.
No one is inspired by images that are old, dreary and gray. Consider updating your corporate building photos or your team portraits for your website or collateral while the weather is warm and the sun is plentiful.
Don’t be afraid to get creative with unique backgrounds and angles. Play up the scenery, and aim for bold, vibrant backgrounds to enhance your outdoor photography session.
Creating a library of images through outdoor photography sessions doesn’t have to be difficult or daunting. But please note, if you are looking to get the most out of the photos you end up with in your marketing collateral, it’s worth contacting a professional rather than trying to shoot them yourself.
We’ve coordinated several outdoor photography sessions for clients, so if you have any questions on the best way to do this, feel free to leave a comment.
