Acquisition expands company’s footprint
ARTESIA, N.M., January 30, 2014 – Artesia, N.M.-based Wilbanks Energy Logistics (Wilbanks), an energy logistics and rig mobilization company dedicated to delivering solutions that create long-term value and competitive advantage for customers, has acquired Permian Trucking & Hot Shot, LLC, a Gardendale, Texas-based rig mobilization and heavy haul trucking company. Wilbanks Chairman of the Board George Mattson made the announcement.
“Permian Trucking’s experienced team, safety processes, efficient rig mobilization services and proximity to Midland/Odessa made it a great investment as we continue to expand the Wilbanks footprint in the Permian Basin,” said Wilbanks CEO Michael Wysocki. “The addition of this Midland/Odessa location puts us within a short distance of all of the key production areas in the Permian Basin. We’d like to thank founder Chris Harris and his team, and look forward to having them join the Wilbanks family.”
Founded in 1998 by Chris Harris, Permian Trucking is located near some of the country’s densest drilling areas, and has developed a strong reputation for efficient rig mobilization. Existing Permian Trucking infrastructure and operations, including more than 90 employees, will be integrated into the Wilbanks organization. Harris will lead business development efforts in Midland/Odessa. The transaction closed January 23, 2014.
The acquisition is part of the Wilbanks team’s continuing series of investments in people, technology and resources to serve as the region’s leading energy logistics provider. Wilbanks operates four full-service terminals in Artesia, Carlsbad, Hobbs and Midland/Odessa to serve customers everywhere throughout the Permian Basin.
