Farbman Group Challenges Tenant To Summer Fitness Initiative

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 10, 2013 — Southfield-based Farbman Group, a leading full-service real estate company, announced today that it is sponsoring a summer fitness challenge between Farbman Group employees and those of one of its Bingham Office Center tenants, United Physicians. Andrew Farbman, President and CEO of Farbman Group, made the announcement.
For the challenge, happening now through August 31, employees at both companies will record their steps using pedometers provided by each company. At the end of the two-month contest, the team with the highest average number of steps will enjoy a celebratory heart-healthy lunch at the expense of the losing team. As an end cap to the health-focused experience, all participants will take part in the American Diabetes Association’s Detroit Step Out: Walk to End Diabetes, on Saturday, September 14 at the Detroit Zoo.
“Both Farbman Group and United Physicians are strongly committed to promoting employee wellness and offering opportunities to achieve important health goals in the workplace, all while engaging in a little friendly competition,” said Farbman. “This health challenge is a great opportunity to not only promote our shared cultures of wellness, but also raise money and critical awareness for an important cause.”
Employees from both companies are encouraged to secure pledges from their families, friends and co-workers to support their fitness challenge. All proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Foundation to raise awareness and increase preventative testing for the disease.
