Easton Town Center Opens Next-Generation Build-A-Bear Store

Easton’s store only tenth in 400-plus-store chain to implement new model 

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 9, 2013 – Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has relocated and opened its next-generation model in Easton Town Center’s new family-friendly district, Fenlon Square. Easton’s new Build-A-Bear location is one of 10 worldwide.  Easton Town Center co-developers Steiner + Associates and The Georgetown Company made the announcement.

The digitally advanced store has added features to make the bear-building experience more seamless and interactive, including a “Love Me” station where children can choose personality traits for their bears on touch screens; a “Hear Me” station where one of 75 sound chips can be loaded with animal noises or popular music; and a “Fluff Me” station where children can “wash” their bears. The bears also include barcodes, which automatically track all features added to the bears, and add points directly into customers’ loyalty accounts.

The new Build-A-Bear opened across the street from the brand-new American Girl store in Easton’s Fenlon Square. The 40,000-square-foot district boasts a wide range of child-friendly, family-centric retail offerings, as well as an interactive fountain featuring sculptures of flowers, frogs, turtles, fish, birds and more.
