Detroit Country Day School Presents Spring Musical, “Honk!”

A colorful adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Ugly Duckling”
BEVERLY HILLS, Mich., April 29, 2011 — Detroit Country Day School is pleased to announce the opening of its spring musical, “Honk!” Performances will be Friday, May 6 at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 8 at 3 p.m., at the Upper School’s Seligman Performing Arts Center, 22305 W. 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills.
A worldwide stage sensation based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Ugly Duckling,” “Honk!” tells the story of an odd-looking baby duck, Ugly, and her quest to find her mother. Detroit Country Day School students from grades one through 12 play a dynamic cast of characters, including a wily cat, several ducklings and a supportive swan that helps Ugly find her way.
Tickets are available for $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Saturday’s matinee performance is $5 for students and seniors in advance, or $10 at the door.
