Atlas Oil Hosts 7th Annual Selfridge Air National Guard Base Holiday Party

Event celebrates members of the military and their families

TAYLOR, Mich., December 10, 2013 – Atlas Oil Company’s charitable division, Atlas Cares, hosted its 7^th annual Selfridge Air National Guard Base (SANGB) Holiday Party on Sunday, Dec. 8, honoring active members of the United States military in Hangar 36 at the Base in Mt. Clemens. Atlas Oil Chairman & CEO Sam Simon made the announcement.

 The event featured special guest Congresswoman Candice Miller of Michigan’s 10^th district, and also reported record-breaking attendance with close to 4,000 service men and women from all branches of the military and their families present. Festivities included live entertainment from the band Fifty Amp Fuse, games, face painting, arts & crafts activities and visits with Santa, as well as a hot buffet meal and of course formal recognition of all the military members.

“Honoring and giving back to the heroic men and women who put their lives on the line for us is a very important part of Atlas Oil Company’s core value system and we are continually humbled and inspired by their bravery” said Simon. “This event would not have been possible without the generous donations of our customers and suppliers, or the 150 Atlas team members who volunteered their time to this great cause.”
