Complementary, open to the public event celebrates the grand architecture of Fisher Building, Big Heads from Parade Company and offers other family-friendly activities
DETROIT, Mich., December 11, 2013—Southfield, Mich.-based Farbman Group, a leading full-service real estate company, announced today Family Fun Day at the Fisher on Saturday, December 14. Andrew V. Farbman, CEO of Farbman Group made the announcement.
The event, which is open to the public, will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. is the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy the architectural splendor of the Fisher Building.
During the event, The Parade Company’s world-renowned papier-mâché head collection, known as the “Big Heads,” will be on display throughout the building’s corridors. One of America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’s grandest attractions, these colorful artifacts was originally acquired from artists in Italy with some dating back to the 1940s. Twenty-five of The Parade Company’s collection of nearly 300 “Big Heads” are on display now until early January. As a special treat for Family Fun Day, attendees can enjoy the vintage Elf Big Heads, who will interact with children in the Fisher Building’s lobby.
Pure Detroit will showcase an eight-foot replica of the Fisher Building made of Legos, as well as offer a complementary guided building tour, highlighting the Fisher’s art deco designs and stunning views from the building’s 26th floor beginning at 11 a.m. The day’s activities also include music performances, face painting, a children’s hot chocolate bar with complementary hot chocolate and plenty of toppings at Stella Good Coffee and an interactive exhibit entitled “little buildings for little people,” at Workshop, which will offer children the opportunity to paint the doors and windows of small forms of buildings made from local reclaimed wood.

During the day, Broadway In Detroit will be conducting a giveaway of four tickets to a performance of War Horse on December 19th.
