Useful Advice for HARO Users

For those of us in the PR world who utilize such services as Help A Reporter Out (HARO) and ProfNet, we know how useful these tools can be, both for publicists and reporters seeking credible sources. That said, it is not always clear what type of response the reporter is looking for. In today’s PR Daily Newsfeed, veteran freelancer Pam Baker invites publicists to see HARO responses from a reporters’ point of view.

As is the case in many industries, freelancers are finding themselves stretched thin with publications expecting twice as much output for half as much pay. It is no surprise, then, that reporters find HARO responses helpful…we’re sending sources directly to them. We’re only helpful, however, when we send efficeint, meaningful pitches with insightful sources and interesting quotes.
