Movie of the Week: Crazy (Fake?) Wedding Proposal
By: Nikki Little
There are plenty of ridiculous wedding proposal, church entrance and first wedding dance videos on YouTube that have earned quite a bit of attention. In fact, many of these couples have seen their videos jump from the Internet to mainstream media virtually overnight. Late last month, a new wedding proposal spectacle started making the rounds on YouTube. It has already garnered more than 300,000 views in just a few days.
The video features all the elements that made its predecessors successful: music, dancing, creativity and a dash of “adorable.” However, those aren’t the reasons why this particular video caught my attention. It’s on my radar because a blogger form the site Urlesque thinks the whole thing is a hoax.
It all seemed just a little too perfect: The couple walks into the park, he’s planned all this out before, she doesn’t seem aware, there’s a chair and pow! Dancing! Romance! Also, a terrible, pain-inducing song this blogger had never heard before.
Go ahead and check out the clip for yourself below, then head over to Urlesque and read the 10 reasons why they believe the video might not be genuine. Whether the video is real or fake, I can only hope the couple is already planning how to top this video by doing something crazy at their wedding.
