Identity Gives Back to Relay For Life in Royal Oak
By: Identity Team
Whether it’s through our work with our clients or in our community engagements, Identity’s goal is the same: Leave a Mark. We’ve already had the honor of positively impacting the lives of many of our neighbors through our partnerships with local charities and organizations, including Starfish Family Services, Samaritan House and the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit. This year, our office was thrilled to add yet another deserving organization to our list. On June 8, Identity traveled to the Royal Oak Middle School to take part in the city’s annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event. A tremendous success, the 24-hour event served as a time for participants to celebrate the lives of loved ones who are currently fighting, have faced or lost their battles with cancer, as well as raise much needed funds for the foundation.
Identity employees spent more than 60 combined hours walking and bringing attention to this great cause. With each team permitted to sell an item of their choice to participants and attendees, Identity focused its on-site fundraising efforts on limiting sun exposure by selling fun sunglasses, fans and sunscreen. In addition to these sun-related items, a special thank you goes out to our friends at Absopure for helping walkers on the track stay hydrated and in good spirits.
Through employee contributions, and unique company-wide fundraisers that included “Spirit Days” and penny wars, Identity raised more than $3,500 for this wonderful cause, with an additional donation from our friends at The Farbman Group contributing to the overall event’s total of $53,000+. The fact that this number exceeded the $50,000 goal is a testament to the hard work put in by all the teams who participated. Our thanks go out not only to all of our team members who participated, but also to our friends and families who donated to this deserving cause.
