Giving Back: Identity Brightens the Holidays For Two Local Families
By: Erin Robinson
To round out our year-long corporate giving initiative, Identity adopted two families through the Starfish Family Services Adopt-A-Family program. Starfish, an Inkster, MI based nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by creating family success, has been serving at-risk families in southeastern Michigan since 1963. We have had the privilege of working with the organization on a variety of initiatives over the years, including two previous years with the Adopt-A-Family program.
This year, the Identity team contributed more than 50 gifts to the two families, ranging from winter boots, clothes and household items to educational toys and games. We concluded the initiative with a company-wide wrapping party…complete with festive holiday cookies and eggnog, of course.
On December 4, we loaded two Identity team members’ cars to capacity with packages, boxes and bags. We then delivered the gifts to the Starfish headquarters, where the families will soon retrieve the items.
We’re firm believers in giving back all year long, and particularly during the holiday season. Incorporating a philanthropic program into your company culture is not only great for the community, but also serves as a team building and bonding opportunity for your employees. We highly recommend it, and have helped several clients establish corporate giving programs.
What is your company or family doing to give back this holiday season?
