Giving Back – Getting Something In Return
By: Mark Winter
Many team members at Identity donate their personal time to give back to local charitable organizations—the Dearborn Youth Symphony, Gleaners, March of Dimes and St. Jude are some of our employees’ favorite charities, just to name a few.
But beyond donating personal time, we have two awesome employees, who have stepped up to lend their time and talents on an ongoing basis as board members of their favorite local charities. They have done some awesome work being a part of these groups.
And what do you think they say is the best part? What they get in return.
Nikki Stephan is an advisory board member for Operation Kid Equip. OKE provides school supplies, books, food and hygiene items for local children in need. As you can tell when talking with her, Nikki is super passionate about this organization, its mission and the people she’s connected with through making the decision to get involved.
Amanda Bosherz has been a board member with Sweet Dreamzzz since 2007, a local non-profit committed to improving the health, well-being and academic performance of at-risk school-aged children by providing sleep education and bedtime essentials. Over the years, she’s worked closely with the board regarding marketing and public relations efforts. Amanda says she’s gained personally from participating with this group—all while stretching her own professional strengths as a result.
I wanted to take a minute to learn more about these organizations near and dear to the hearts of both Nikki and Amanda (my colleagues and friends). Luckily, I caught it on video in the office, so I could share with you too.
So, tell me, what are some of the reasons you give back to the community?
