Identity a Finalist for PR Agency of the Year by PR Daily Awards

By: Andrea Trapani

Ragan’s PR Daily Awards is one of the most prestigious honors in the public relations industry, recognizing the best of the best from around the world. The awards honor the people, campaigns, and agencies responsible for delivering inspired work that “captivated and engaged audiences, boosted sales, and lifted brands” over the course of the last year.

It’s because this is such a respected and anticipated awards program that Identity is thrilled to announce we’ve been named a PR Daily Awards finalist in the category of PR Agency of the Year.

Our nomination focused on a potent combination of great work, a thriving gamelover-focused culture, and our growth and impact on the industry at a national level. With a shared commitment as a team to reach new heights as a PR, marketing, and creative agency, we’ve embraced the idea of being “one of one”—an agency that stands alone for our unmatched expertise and service leading to unprecedented client successes and new and exciting opportunities for our team. Achieving that goal has required a new level of clarity and intentionality with our employment brand and agency POV, putting the right people in the right seats, focusing on what matters as the communications industry rapidly evolves, and constantly curating our brand, our visibility, and our growing reputation throughout the Midwest and beyond.

As a Detroit-based agency, it’s such an incredible honor to be nominated, especially because it feels like a validation of all our team has accomplished and the progress we have made as an agency over the past several years.

We have continued our impressive growth trajectory of both our client portfolio and our agency team, accelerating our expansion into new verticals, including emerging industries, and creating opportunities for education, training, and elevation internally.

Our client portfolio includes a remarkably diverse spectrum of organizations that are key players in their respective spaces. Today, we have clients in more than 35 states, from entrepreneurial startups and regional players to iconic national brands and multinational corporations with expanding global footprints. Our portfolio continues to include the top companies nationally in real estate, including leading entertainment, gaming, and mixed-use property developers, hospitality leaders, self-storage operators, and investment funds. We expanded our relationship with Los Angeles-based High Times to promote the Cannabis Cup competition nationally, rebranded luxury aviation company Pentastar Aviation, and won RFPs to work with Gleaners Community Food Bank and the City of Sterling Heights. And that’s just a fraction of the exciting client wins and moments we’ve accomplished this year.

Equally impressive is the commitment we’ve made internally to continue to grow, evolve, and improve our culture and our connectivity. The elevated thought leadership from the Identity leadership team has enabled us to reexamine and refine our client service delivery platform. We embrace a more flexible remote-first operational model and continue to strengthen our culture of connected gamelovers in ways that enable both individuals and the agency as a whole to continue to grow and succeed. From our expanded new professional Apprentice Program to our community service moments and our Gamelover Supercharged events, thoughtful, strategic, and consistent employee engagement is at the heart of our own identity and agency culture.  We can say without hesitation that our team has never been more connected, talented, and capable of greatness, and our work has never been more consequential than it is right now.

Members of our team are heading to Washington, D.C., in December to represent Identity during a special awards event, held at the National Press Club. The company we keep from across the country for award recognition like this is inspiring, and we look forward to the celebration with our esteemed agency peers in the room.

In addition to PR Agency of the Year, we’re finalists in a number of PR Daily Awards categories that will be honored during the program:

  • Email Communications: Leading the Launch of Spartan Storage Fund 1
  • Rebranding or Repositioning Campaign: Rebranding Pentastar Aviation to Soar to New Heights
  • Press Event or Media Tour: A Tour Bus Intro to Motown Museum’s Motortown Revue Anniversary Installation
  • Report: Aimbridge Accelerates: A Report for the ALIS Hospitality Conference

This recognition is a continuation of momentum from our team to identify opportunities and generate award-winning work, especially on the heels of industry recognition for our approach to and deployment of crisis management expertise since 2021. And, we know our thoughtful, expanding, and evolving agency has more big ideas and bright days ahead.

As we look to what may be in store for 2024 and beyond, we are incredibly honored to be considered leaders in our industry and we’re ready to embrace the journey for what’s next.
