CHESTERFIELD TWP., Mich., August 13, 2013 – PRISM Plastics, a metro Detroit-based high-precision plastic products manufacturer, announced today that the company has made a donation of $1,000 to Care House, a Macomb County, Mich.-based nonprofit dedicated to preventing and reducing incidents and trauma of child abuse. PRISM Vice President Gerry Phillips made the announcement.
PRISM’s donation will help Care House support families and abuse victims in Macomb County, reduce trauma and aid in the recovery process of abused children. Care House also offers families a variety of counseling, legal and educational services that promote the healing process and break the cycle of abuse in future generations.
“The more I learned about what Care House does for individuals and families, the more impressed I became with their organization and the support they are able to provide to community members—and we wanted to help,” said Phillips. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to their cause with the knowledge that, through their hard work, our donation will help make a different in the lives of our neighbors.”
Care House provides a single-interview process, which gathers all of the professionals involved in a case to witness the forensic interview together, helping to streamline the investigative process and eliminate the need for a child to re-live their traumatic experience throughout several interviews with multiple personnel.
“At Care House, we are focused on serving the needs of children and families first, providing a variety of services to those who seek our help at no charge,” said Dorie Vazquez-Nolan, executive director of Care House. “Generous donations like the one made by PRISM Plastics help us continue to provide critical care and guidance to those in need of our support.”
PRISM Plastics supports local nonprofit organizations and those in need, serving the communities in which they do business in Michigan and Texas.
