Nationwide Realty Investors Announces New Phase of Residential at Grandview Yard

By: Stephanie Cosby

Project to include 28,000 square feet of commercial space on ground floor.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, September 23, 2013––Columbus-based Nationwide Realty Investors (NRI) announced today that it has begun construction on the second phase of its Grandview Yard Apartments. NRI President and COO Brian J. Ellis made the announcement.

The Keystone building will add an additional 120 upscale units located in three-interconnected four-story buildings bringing the project’s residential to a combined 274-units.  The new one and two bedroom apartments will range in size from 700-square-feet to more than 1,000-square-feet.

“With its outstanding schools, central location, great walkability and high energy, Grandview Heights is one of Central Ohio’s most desirable communities,” said Ellis. “There is significant demand for quality, for-rent residential housing in the market, yet very few options. All of the units in the first phase of the project were fully leased before we delivered the project to market earlier this year.”

Located on Yard Street just north of the existing Grandview Yard apartments, the Keystone building will also feature 28,000 square feet of Class A commercial office space on the ground floor. The project is set to be complete summer of 2014.

The expanded Apartments at Grandview Yard will join Hyatt Place Hotel, LA Fitness, Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill, Jason’s Deli, Massage Envy, Schindler Dentistry and several office tenants at the project. A 93,000-square-foot Giant Eagle Supermarket is also planned to open mid 2014.  When completed, the master plan for Grandview Yard calls for 600 – 800 residential units with both for-lease and for-sale opportunities.

About Grandview Yard: Located on the former Big Bear warehouse site and encompassing nearly 100 acres, Nationwide Realty Investor’s Grandview Yard will include 1.5 – 2 million square feet of commercial space, including a significant retail component, restaurants, office and more than 600 residential (condo and apartment) units. New community parks and significant infrastructure improvements are also included in the master plan. Additionally, Grandview Yard is the first development pre-certified by the USGBC LEED for Neighborhood Development in the Midwest.
