Jaffe Partner Judith Greenstone Miller Appointed Chair of American Bankruptcy Institute Task Force

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., – June 21, 2011 – Judith Greenstone Miller, a partner in the Southfield office of Michigan-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been appointed as the chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) National Task Force on Ethics Standards in Bankruptcy Practice. Jaffe CEO Richard Zussman made the announcement.
The American Bankruptcy Institute is the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. The ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues. The Ethics Standards in Bankruptcy Practice Task Force will study the need for a national set of standards for professional conduct by lawyers in bankruptcy cases, in addition to promulgating a set of standards that can be added to the national dialogue now ongoing.
Ms. Miller is a partner in the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss and a member of the Firm’s bankruptcy and insolvency practice groups, specializing in creditors’ rights and commercial litigation. Her practice involves representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings, primarily involving Chapter 11 reorganizations. She also represents parties in litigation in complex commercial disputes and lectures nationally on bankruptcy, ethics and creditors’ rights issues. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan and a cum laude graduate of Wayne State University Law School.
