By: Erin Robinson
BIRMINGHAM, Mich., December 10, 2009—Christin Bracken and Brian Parkison, REALTORS® with Birmingham, Mich.-based Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel (CBWM), have earned the nationally recognized Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource Certification (SFR) from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel CEO Kelly Sweeney made the announcement.
“This training will help them better serve our clients and significantly increase our closing success for short sales and bank-owned properties,” said Sweeney.
The NAR awards the SFR certificate to those who strive to help both buyers and sellers navigate these complicated transactions, which are becoming more prevalent as distressed sales continue to become a larger segment of the market.
The certification program includes training on how to qualify sellers for short sales, negotiate with lenders, protect buyers and limit risk. It also provides resources to help REALTORS® stay current on national and state-specific information as the market for these distressed properties continues to evolve.
