  • CHESTERFIELD TWP., Mich., August 13, 2013 PRISM Plastics, a metro Detroit-based high-precision plastic products manufacturer, announced today that the company has made a donation of $1,000 to Care House, a Macomb County, Mich.-based nonprofit dedicated to preventing and reducing incidents and trauma of child abuse. PRISM Vice President Gerry Phillips made the announcement.

    PRISM’s donation will help Care House support families and abuse victims in Macomb County, reduce trauma and aid in the recovery process of abused children. Care House also offers families a variety of counseling, legal and educational services that promote the healing process and break the cycle of abuse in future generations.

  • Chesterfield Twp., Mich. – July 2, 2013 – PRISM Plastics has announced a $2 million investment in new Toshiba injection molding machines (85 to 200 tons of clamping force) for its facilities in Chesterfield, Michigan and Harlingen, Texas. The machines, installed between now and the end of 2013, will add approximately 20 percent to PRISM’s production capacity for producing tight-tolerance seat belt, air bag, fuel, steering and brake parts. PRISM Vice President Jerry Williams made the announcement.

    “Our niche—difficult-to-mold, functional, safety parts—requires us to take full advantage of the latest technology at every step in our processes to eliminate variation,” says Williams. “This new investment will increase our capacity and allow us to take on a number of new projects and volume increases with our current customers.”
