A 30-year veteran of public relations, Brendy serves as Counsel to Identity, specializing in news media relations. She works with a variety of clients across the agency’s roster to garner coverage in key media outlets.
Brendy discovered her interest in retail and product promotion at the age 13 when her mother opened a gift shop in Franklin Village, Michigan. She helped out at special store events after school and on the weekends.
Brendy cultivated her interest in marketing—particularly public relations—at the University of Michigan where she earned a BA in corporate communications. After a brief stint at a local ad agency, she was offered a position as Director of PR/Publicity for Olympia Entertainment, overseeing news media relations for productions at Joe Louis Arena, Cobo Arena and The Fox. Brendy then moved over to the agency side and hasn’t looked back. After serving in management roles at Franco and Weber Shandwick-Detroit, she launched her own PR practice in 1999, focusing on news media relations for clients in the entertainment, retail and hospitality industries.
When Brendy is not orchestrating a media event, you can find her on the water, trying out a new restaurant, movie watching, or traveling to a far-flung destination.
