Trio of Prestigious Award Wins Raises Legal Firm’s Local Profile

Identity leverages legal media knowledge to secure honors for Dawda Mann

Our Approach

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan-based Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy & Sadler (Dawda Mann) is a full-service business law firm providing the expertise of a large firm with the flexibility and care of a boutique firm. Dawda Mann engaged Identity to provide strategic media relations and communications support for a broad number of initiatives, including enhancing local visibility and awareness of the firm within the metro Detroit area.

The Identity team immediately set to work creating a multifaceted strategy to accomplish this goal—which placed an emphasis on identifying and pursuing relevant local award opportunities. With vast knowledge of local legal media, Identity knew Michigan Lawyers Weekly, one of the state’s most highly respected legal publications, offered several prestigious honors—including Leaders in the Law, Women in the Law and Up & Coming Lawyers—for high achieving attorneys across the state

Identity worked closely with Dawda Mann to identifwinniy and vet deserving candidates for each of these three honors within the firm. We then interviewed each nominee to gather critical information for the nomination and drafted essays on behalf of each candidate outlining their professional legal successes, civic engagement and other ways they are helping to advance the legal profession.

With Identity’s help, Dawda Mann was the only legal firm to have a representative honored in each of the three award opportunities. Chris Mann, a member of the firm, was one of 30 attorneys chosen as 2017 “Leaders in the Law.” Sue Sadler, a founding member of the firm, was selected for Women in the Law, and firm associate Kylie Bergman was chosen as an “Up & Coming Lawyer.”

Not only did these honors help raise the local profile of the individual attorneys, but it generated strong visibility and awareness across Michigan for the firm as a whole. Identity helped Dawda Mann further leverage these honors, as well as other media relations successes, at the company’s annual client event by creating wall boards to put on display showcasing the firm’s thought leadership and expertise.
