Local scores measure consistently above global results in business climate report
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 22, 2014 – Southfield, Mich.-based Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Detroit, a local 131-member peer-to-peer business organization that has more than $2.1 billion in combined revenue and accounts for 7,000 local jobs, announced today that Detroit scored consistently higher than the overall global results in a recent business climate survey. EO Detroit president Mark Winter made the announcement.
The favorable numbers demonstrate a healthy Detroit business climate in such areas as the increase in number of full-time employees, change in net profit, business revenue, and proclivity to start a new business. The Global Entrepreneur Indicator (GEI) survey was completed by 75 EO Detroit members – whose average yearly revenues exceed $7 million – along with 5,677 members from the global organization.
“This is the fifth straight year that EO Detroit has outpaced the global results in several important categories,” said Winter, who also serves as managing partner of Identity, a Bingham Farms-based integrated public relations firm. “We are a community of fighters and creators and that is clearly represented in our numbers.”
As an example, 57.33 percent of EO Detroit members increased the number of full-time employees in their organizations in the last six months compared with 55.4 percent globally. Nearly 75 percent of the EO Detroit members expect to increase the number of full-time employees in their organization within the next 6 months. Click here for the full report.
