ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 22, 2013 — Corrigan Moving Systems, a Rochester relocation company dedicated to elevating the moving experience for families and businesses, partnered with three deserving charities this spring to raise awareness of each organization’s mission. Corrigan General Manager Marabeth Galardi made the announcement.
“Our company is built on strong family values and anytime we have the opportunity to offer a helping hand to our community, we proudly accept,” Galardi said. “These three groups are exceptional organizations that are leaving a lasting impact not only in our area, but also throughout the U.S. It is an honor to have worked with each of them.”
Corrigan, along with 12 senior living communities, partnered with Your Best Move and Move for Hunger, a nonprofit that works closely with moving companies to fill food banks nationwide, for a food drive on May 13-31. As part of the initiative, Corrigan donated its moving services to collect donations made throughout the community and delivered them to Foodlink, who will distribute the food to the food pantries.
On May 17, Corrigan once again offered its services to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Ride for Missing Children event. A 100-mile ride was made by more than 300 pledge bicycle riders looking to increase awareness of what individuals can do to stop child predators, as well as raise the funds needed to help bring missing children back to a safe home. Corrigan trailed the bikers, offering assistance to those unable to continue the ride.
The company’s month long charity campaign will cap off with six employees participating in the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure on June 2. With sponsorship funds totaling $1,050 donated by Corrigan and co-workers, the Corrigan team will complete the 100-mile Century ride to support the association in its mission to cure diabetes and improve the lives of those affected by the disease.
