Winning Futures President & CEO Kristina Marshall Appointed to Mentor Michigan Leadership Council

WARREN, Mich., August 24, 2011 – Kristina Marshall, president & CEO of Warren, Mich.-based Winning Futures, a nonprofit organization that inspires and prepares at-risk youth for success, has been appointed to the Mentor Michigan Leadership Council.
Mentor Michigan is a state agency that supports mentoring programs through training and best-practice research and tools. Its Leadership Council is composed of business and funding leaders who set the overall direction and priorities for Mentor Michigan in order to help garner the resources necessary to carry out the organizations mission. Mrs. Marshall also currently serves as chair of the Mentor Michigan Providers Council, where she has been an active member since its inception in 2004.
Mrs. Marshall received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University, her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Oakland University and is a graduate of Leadership Macomb and the Michigan Nonprofit Association’s Executive Leadership Fellows.
A frequent speaker and published author, Mrs. Marshall has personally mentored more than 40 teens. She has garnered several awards on behalf of the organization, including Charter One’s “Champions in Action” award in 2008, the Governor’s “Innovative Mentoring Program of the Year” award in 2007 and the Governor’s “Excellence in Practice” award for Career Education in 2005.
