Detroit Country Day School Names Lisa M. Zimmerman to Director of Elementary Education

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich., August 11, 2011 — Detroit Country Day School is pleased to announce Lisa M. Zimmerman has been named director of elementary education. Detroit Country Day School Headmaster Glen Shilling made the announcement.

In her new role, Ms. Zimmerman will be instrumental in the administration’s efforts to align and continuously improve policies, processes and curricula of the Detroit Country Day Lower, Junior, Middle and Upper Schools, ensuring a seamless and consistently exceptional education experience for all students. Her duties will include planning, managing and directing the Lower and Junior Schools’ faculty and administrative personnel, as well as, the interactions among students grades Pre-K through 5; developing and executing the curriculum for grades Pre-K through 5; and, directing the admissions for the Detroit Country Day Lower and Junior Schools, among many other administrative responsibilities.

Since 1990, Ms. Zimmerman has served as teacher, athletic coach, academic club coach, class trip coordinator, department chair and dean of students for the Detroit Country Day Middle School. Ms. Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Albion College and a Master of Arts degree in teaching from Eastern Michigan University.
