X Team International Partner Venture Commercial Represents WinCo Foods in Texas Land Acquisition

85,000-square-foot WinCo Foods set to open in 2015

DALLAS, September 17, 2014—X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors with expertise in more than 45 major markets throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe, announced that partner Venture Commercial Real Estate, a Dallas-based commercial real estate firm, represented WinCo Foods in the acquisition of a 12-acre tract of land in Garland, Texas. Venture Commercial’s McGregor Converse made the announcement.

A family of local, employee-owned grocery stores, WinCo Foods is expected to complete construction of its new 85,000-square-foot store in Garland, Texas, in spring 2015. The store will be located at 1122 West Centerville Road on the northeast quadrant of Centerville and Interstate 635.

“Venture Commercial is pleased to help WinCo Foods build and expand their brand as they emerge as a prominent grocer in the Dallas market,” Converse said. “This 12-acre piece of land offers tremendous opportunity for growth and further visibility among local residents, which will lead to a new loyal customer base for the store.”

Kevie Beard, McGregor Converse, Jonathan Cooper and Theo Thompson of Venture Commercial Real Estate represented WinCo Foods, LLC in the transaction. Jim Weir of The Retail Connection represented the seller, IUM Investors, LP. Caroline Woodbury and Don Woodbury of DWC Commercial Properties, LC coordinated acquisition, development and entitlement of the property.

WinCo Foods entered the Dallas-Fort Worth market in early 2014 with the opening of its first two stores in Fort Worth and McKinney. A Duncanville location is now open, to be followed by openings in North Richland Hills and Lewisville.
