Two New Attorneys Join Trott & Trott, P.C.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., September 1, 2011 – Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Trott & Trott, P.C. (Trott), a law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, announced today the addition of Melissa Byrd and Petrea Tompkins to the firm’s bankruptcy and executive departments. Trott & Trott President and Managing Partner David A. Trott made the announcement.
Melissa Byrd joins Trott as a litigation attorney concentrating her practice in the areas of bankruptcy and mortgage creditors’ rights. Ms. Byrd received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan Dearborn and her Juris Doctor from the Ave Maria School of Law. Prior to joining Trott, she served as an attorney with Troy, Mich.-based Wolfson Bolton, PLLC, where she focused her practice in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency law, debtors’ and creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation.
Petrea Tompkins joins Trott as an attorney in the executive department, working with general and corporate counsel on policies, procedures and compliance. Ms. Tompkins received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Western Michigan University and her Juris Doctor from the Michigan State University College of Law. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a solo practitioner focusing on the areas of criminal defense and estate planning.
