Trott & Trott Attorneys David Trott and Marcy Ford Recognized by Best Lawyers

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., January 20, 2010 — David Trott, president and managing partner of Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Trott & Trott, P.C., and Marcy Ford, executive vice president and managing partner for the Bankruptcy and Foreclosure First Legal department of the firm, have been recognized in the 16th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America. David and Marcy were the only two attorneys in the state of Michigan recognized for the “Mortgage Banking Foreclosure Law” practice area.
Best Lawyers is one of the most respected peer-review publications in the legal industry. The annual referral guide, The Best Lawyers in America, includes 39,766 attorneys in 80 practice areas, covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The 2010 edition is based on more than 2.8 million peer evaluations. The November 30, 2009 issue of Crain’s Detroit Business recognized the Michigan attorneys who received the honor.
David is a 1981 graduate of the University of Michigan, and he earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Duke University School of Law in 1985. From 2002-2004, he served as the president of USFN. A frequent speaker and published author, David was also a recipient of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association’s highest award, the James T. Barnes Memorial Award. He serves on the Board of University of Michigan in Washington, Detroit Country Day School Board of Trustees and the Karmanos Cancer Institute Board of Directors.
Marcy is a 1984 graduate of Western Michigan University, where she received her master’s degree with honors in 1986. She is a 1993 cum laude graduate of Wayne State University Law School. Marcy serves on the board of the Consumer Bankruptcy Association (Easter District of Michigan), as well as a board member and the secretary of USFN. Additionally, she serves as the Loss Mitigation Subcommittee assistant chair for the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and was recently appointed to the Default Advisory Group for Freddie Mac.
