Restaurant teams up with 97.1 The Fan and MillerCoors for basketball competition to support Ronald McDonald House
COLUMBUS, Ohio, February 25, 2014 – The Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill at Grandview Yard announced today that it will host a series of competitions leading up to the Final Four college basketball tournament in which contestants can win a trip to Las Vegas while supporting the Ronald McDonald House. Buckeye Hall of Fame General Manager, Tracy Ritchey made the announcement.
During three remaining qualifying rounds, participants will attempt one 3-point shot in a regulation basketball hoop outside the Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill. Those who make their shots will be invited back to compete in a tournament style game of PIG for a grand prize trip to Las Vegas, which includes airfare, three nights at the Bellagio, hotel tax and transfers for two people during the Final Four Championships April 5-7.
“Our March Madness event will bring area athletes, amateurs, and basketball fans alike out for an energetic and spirit-filled competition that supports a great cause,” said Ritchey.
The three qualifying rounds will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, Thursday, March 6, and Sunday, March 16. Participants may take one free 3-point shot each during each of the qualifying rounds, but can attempt a second shot by donating $20 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. According to Columbus Ronald McDonald House Charities Development Officer, Megan Koester, “twenty dollars supports one overnight stay for a family while their child is receiving care across the street at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.”
The final round of the competition will take place during a live station broadcast with Bishop & Rothman and Common Man & Company on Friday, March 21.
