Popular Arena District eatery offers new vegan options and event space
COLUMBUS, Ohio July 19, 2012 — The Arena District’s Sunny Street Café has added daily vegan meals and a full-vegan brunch to their menu on Saturday’s from 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
“The vegan community is growing in Columbus, and being surrounded by vegans myself (my wife, brother-in-law, and best friend), I thought it was important to add vegan options to our current menu of fresh and wholesome food,” said Jason Crowe, General Manager of Sunny Street Café. “We have a complete brunch menu with vegan versions of a traditional breakfast on Saturdays, and at least three vegan items served every day in the restaurant.”
There are approximately two million vegans in the United States. With vegan cookbooks becoming best sellers, and celebrities like Carrie Underwood, Lance Armstrong and former president Bill Clinton actively discussing their veganism, this diet and lifestyle trend continues to gain popularity across the nation.
Sunny Street Café has gained substantial support from Columbus vegetarian and vegan groups, and the restaurant hosts meet-ups and events with these organizations. Sunny Street Café is the only vegan restaurant in the area that can serve groups of more than 30 people. In addition to holding large parties with both vegan and non-vegan options, Sunny Street Café is a great place for family and friends and offers a vegan children’s menu to accommodate even their youngest customers. Many of the vegan cooking ingredients are bought locally from Bexley Natural Market, a not-for-profit cooperative, organic grocery store.
Located in the Arena District, Sunny Street Café has dine-in, carry-out and catering services, and is open Monday through Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
