SOUTHFIELD, Mich., September 22, 2010 – Stephen R. Collins has joined Southfield, Mich.-based MarketPlus Insurance Agency, Inc. (MarketPlus), a wholesale distributor of specialty niche products representing multiple A rated carriers, as the agency’s new director.

Collaborating with top-rated carriers throughout the United States, MarketPlus offers coverage for medical malpractice, garage liability, blue water marinas, aviation and environmental liability, along with coverage for unique property and liability exposures.

Mr. Collins comes to MarketPlus with more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Additionally, his extensive experience as a wholesaler will provide the focus and direction necessary to advance the development of the MarketPlus agency.  Prior to joining MarketPlus, Mr. Collins was a marketing underwriter for Michigan Commercial Insurance Mutual (MCIM). Before joining MCIM, he served as manager the Farmington Hills, Mich., branch of Burns & Wilcox.
