Auto supplier PRISM Plastics builds new facility, adds jobs in Macomb County

Chesterfield Twp., Mich. – Sept. 20, 2012 – PRISM Plastics’ corporate headquarters officially relocates to metro Detroit today, adding new local jobs as the company finished construction on a 25,000 square-foot facility in Chesterfield Twp. including $2.5 million in new, state-of-the-art equipment and technology. PRISM Vice President Jerry Williams made the announcement.

Joining its original facility in Port Huron and a second in Harlingen, Texas, the new plant will house corporate finance and sales functions, as well as ten injection molding presses running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. PRISM has already hired ten new team members at the facility and will add eight more over the next 12 months.

“We’re thrilled to join the center of the automotive world in metro Detroit,” says Williams. “Having seen so many of our peers set up shop overseas in recent years, we’re proud to continue to invest in the U.S., and especially in Michigan. Our growth has come from sticking to the type of work where we excel: highly automated, difficult-to-mold, tight-tolerance plastic parts.”
