Roeper Students Receive National AP Scholar Recognition

BIRMINGHAM, Mich., March 9, 2011 – Several students from Birmingham, Mich.-based The Roeper School, a co-educational day school for gifted children, were recently distinguished by the AP Scholars program. Roeper Head of School Randall C. Dunn made the announcement.
The following students were named AP Scholars with Distinction, an award granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of three or higher on five or more of these exams:
- Carozza, Jacqueline A. – Troy
- Knall, Brian – Detroit
- Mueller, Austin R. – Birmingham
- Nowinski, Anna C. – Rochester Hills
- Reilly, Lauren M. – Bloomfield
- Rocco, Devin J. – Bloomfield
- Saslow, Jacob A. – Pleasant Ridge
The following students were named AP Scholars with Honor, an award granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of three or higher on four or more exams:
- O’Connor, Leland Y. – Birmingham
- Terranova, Jason M. – Lake orion
The following students were named AP Scholars, an award granted to students who receive scores of three or high on three or more AP Exams:
- Baron, Patricia S. – Philippines
- Klein, Adam P. – Bloomfield
- Park, Hwan – Wixom
- Pudar, James M. – Farmington Hills
- Resnick, Carolyn R. – Farmington hills
- Steinberger, Joseph – Bloomfield
- Baker, Thomas R. – Birmingham
- Golden, Melissa S. – Troy and Rochester Hills
- Hess, Sam W. – Bloomfield
- Koppy, Falynn E. – Bloomfield
- Oztalay, Benjamin M. – Birmingham and Troy
- Shah, Adarsh N. – Franklin
- Zalenski, Edmund – Birmingham
“We are so proud of our AP Scholars,” said Dunn. “This distinction shows the dedication and hard work that our students have put towards their educational success and we celebrate with them.”
The AP Program offers several AP Scholar Awards to recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams. This achievement is acknowledged on any AP score report that is sent to colleges the following fall.
