BIRMINGHAM, Mich., August 30, 2011 – Amanda Morgan, a student at The Roeper School, was recently recognized as the youngest person ever to reach the number one spot on 96.3 WDVD-FM’s “The Radio Café” Indie Music Channel poll. Her song “Just Wanna Know Why” has held the number one spot on the poll for four consecutive weeks.
A Novi resident, Morgan is a senior at The Roeper School, writes her own music and has been singing her entire life. In addition to her accolades from WDVD listeners and fans, she recently released her first CD entitled “Land of an Endless Sea.”
“Amanda is an outstanding student and an amazingly talented singer and songwriter,” said Eric Swanson, a music teacher at The Roeper School. “Her natural persona resonates through her voice and the lyrics in her music, making her songs relatable to fans of all ages. I’m confident that Amanda has just now begun to make her mark as a singer.”
Morgan can be seen performing live on the Citizen’s Bank stage at this weekend’s Arts Beats & Eats festival on Saturday, September 3rd from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
