Midway Companies Announces Opening of Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Yard House and Straits Restaurant

HOUSTON, November 30, 2009 — Midway Companies, a Houston-based privately owned, fully integrated real estate development and investment firm, announced today that Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Yard House and Straits Restaurant are now open at the company’s CITYCENTRE project in Houston. The announcement was made by Brad Freels, chairman and CEO of Midway Companies.
Based in Austin, Texas, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood features fresh seafood, prime steaks and nightly entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere. The classic seafood restaurant is joining the Houston market with this 10,500-square-foot location.
Making its Houston debut, Yard House opened an 8,532-square-foot eatery in mid-November. The upscale-casual restaurant is known for its classic American cuisine and extensive variety of draft beer.
New to the Texas market, San Francisco-based Straits Restaurant is located on the ground floor of Hotel Sorella. The 6,000-square-foot restaurant offers modern Singaporean cuisine served family-style in a chic dining room.
“Eddie V’s, Yard House and Straits are great additions to the CITYCENTRE restaurant line-up,” said Freels. “Each have received rave reviews since opening, both for the exceptional food and the modern, stylish décor.”
CITYCENTRE is a $500 million development and covers 1.8 million square feet. The new center reflects the next generation of mixed-use development and will be a distinct blend of elegant retail shops, fine dining, state-of-the art offices, distinct metropolitan homes and world-class hospitality, all in one 37-acre pedestrian-oriented environment.
