Michigan Mutual, Inc. Hosts Wellness Fair For Employees

Local mortgage lender promotes team health and well-being through free event 

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., October 29, 2013 – Michigan Mutual, Inc., a full-service residential mortgage lender with locations across Michigan and the United States, hosted a free health and wellness expo for employees on Wednesday, October 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Michigan Mutual, Inc. Co-Founder and Senior Vice President Hale Walker made the announcement.

The free three-hour expo featured an extensive variety of health and wellness stations, workshops and screenings designed to promote and support well-balanced and healthy lifestyles. The company hosted representatives from the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the American Diabetes Association to share crucial information about these common diseases, and also had representatives from Trader Joe’s and LA Fitness on-hand to share information about healthy eating and gym memberships. In addition to these stations, massage therapists and chiropractors were on-site offering immediate relaxation and pain relief services, and team members were able to get prevention and screening care such as flu shots and blood pressure tests.

The wellness expo is just one part of Michigan Mutual’s comprehensive wellness program, called MiWellness. MiWellness encourages employees to eat well, adopt active habits and quit smoking through ongoing, voluntary wellness events and activities, including an incentive program where employees can earn “MiBucks” for participating in healthy activities that they can later cash in for time off or health care coverage deductions.
