Local Entrepreneur Takes Knowledge, Experience Global

BINGHAM FARMS, Mich., June 30, 2010 — When Entrepreneurs’ Organization member David J. Galbenski, Esq. traveled to Toronto this past June, it was not to get away from the less than favorable economy in Detroit.
He went so he could represent Michigan and more importantly Detroit, to the world at the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit, an annual meeting of young entrepreneurs from around the world to discuss best practices and develop business alliances.
Mr. Galbenski is president and CEO of Lumen Legal in Royal Oak, Mich., and past chairman of the global board of directors of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), with over 7,300 members in 42 countries. He is also a past president of the Detroit chapter, which is currently comprised of 107 members with more than 2,500 employees and revenues exceeding $500 million. As a member of the small US delegation to the international conference, Galbenski and others worked for two days to craft a five-point guide to support worldwide entrepreneurial growth citing increased access to funding, education and a reduction in regulation and taxation to encourage growth, among other key points.
Few regions have felt the negative impact of the failing economy quite like southeast Michigan, but the resiliency of Galbenski and the rest of EO may be to thank for an eventual turn-around.
