LaVida Massage Announces Opening of First Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

PITTSBURG, Pa., December 14, 2011 – LaVida Massage, a Commerce, Mich.-based massage and wellness center, today announced the opening of its first LaVida location in Pittsburgh, Pa. LaVida Massage Founder John Hoose made the announcement.

LaVida’s newest center, located at 5430 Centre Ave. inside Shadyside Shops in Pittsburgh, is slated to open at the end of December. The facility’s spacious 2,800 square feet will feature nine regular massage rooms, two couples massage rooms and an aesthetics room.

The center will provide a number of services and products specifically designed to meet the needs of both men and women in the area, including a variety of massage therapy options, such as Swedish, couples, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, chair, corporate and oncological massages performed by licensed massage therapists. Additionally, the center will offer aesthetic services such as facials and waxing, and products by GlyMed Plus, a recognized industry leader in the development of professional skin care products.

The center will be owned and managed by brothers and franchisees Gary and Michael Kohanbash. The Kohanbash brothers became interested in LaVida Massage due to their interest in the health and wellness industry, and after reviewing the company’s business model.

“After working at an oncology center for the past few years, I was very interested in pursuing a career opportunity further within the health and wellness industry,” said Gary Kohanbash. “I am very excited to introduce the Pittsburgh market to LaVida’s gender neutral atmosphere and affordable products and services.”
