Justin Schmidt Joins Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., October 11, 2013– Justin Schmidt has joined Southfield, Mich.-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. as an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Jaffe CEO Bill Sider made the announcement.
Mr. Schmidt focuses his practice on aviation liability claims, and thus far in his career has represented stakeholders in high-profile aviation disaster cases, including the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, American Airlines Flight 587 and Colgan Air Flight 3407.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Schmidt served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was stationed at locations around the world, including Okinawa, Japan and Camp Pendleton, Calif. Mr. Schmidt also served our country during a seven-month combat tour in Fallujah, Iraq.
Mr. Schmidt is a graduate of the University of Michigan and he earned his juris doctorate in 2008 from Rutgers University School of Law. During this time he served as the managing editor of the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal.
