ROMULUS, Mich., April 8, 2009 — J.S. Vig Construction Company, a full-service general contractor and construction management company, announced today that it has recently broke ground on a new Hampton Inn Hotel and Suites in Romulus, Mich. J.S. Vig CEO Joseph Vig, LEED AP, made the announcement.
Located at the corner of Smith and Merriman Roads, the new 78,904-square-foot, six-story hotel site will feature 126 rooms and various amenities including a pool, spa, large breakfast area and conference room.
The new hotel’s location is also within close proximity to Detroit Metropolitan Airport, requiring the use of soundproof windows and the construction of an underground water detention system that will be used to keep migratory birds and other waterfowl away from the area. Construction is scheduled to be completed in February 2010.
This is the second major hospitality project in the Romulus area for J.S. Vig in the past 12 months. The company previously completed a major renovation and addition for an Embassy Hotels and Suites location in January 2008.
