Jaffe Partner Shirley Kaigler Named Among 2012 Women of Excellence by the Michigan Chronicle

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 30, 2012 – Shirley Kaigler, partner with Southfield, Mich.-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. was recently named as one of the Michigan Chronicle’s Women of Excellence for 2012. Jaffe CEO Richard Zussman made the announcement.
The Michigan Chronicle Women of Excellence Awards celebrate local African-American women who inspire others through their vision and leadership, exceptional achievements, and participation in community service.
Ms. Kaigler is one of 50 women who will be recognized at a “High Tea” event hosted by the publication at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel later this month.
Asthe practice group coordinator of the Firm’s Estate and Wealth Planning/Probate Group, Ms. Kaigler specializes in probate and trust administration; estate, tax, retirement and business succession planning; elder law; and health care proxy and special needs issues.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree with distinction from Wayne State University and is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. Ms. Kaigler also earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Wayne State University Law School. She currently serves as president of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association and is a member of the Wolverine Bar Association, National Bar Association Probate and Estate Planning Law Section and the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.
