LaVida Massage to Offer Complimentary Massages to Unemployed Nationwide on October 5th

HOWELL, Mich., September 16, 2009 — Howell, Mich.-based LaVida Massage, a high-quality massage and wellness franchise, is lending a hand and softening the edge to those struck hard by the economic crisis. On Monday, October 5, 2009, participating LaVida Massage franchise locations throughout the United States will be offering a complimentary massage to those currently unemployed. The announcement was made by LaVida Massage Founder John Hoose.

Founded in 2007 in Brighton, Mich, LaVida Massage is a state-of-the-art massage center, offering a variety of services dedicated to promoting health and wellness, including massages and facial procedures. Locations hit especially hard with unemployment, including Brighton, Mich.; Canton, Mich.; Clarkston, Mich.; Fayetteville, Ark.; Chandler, Ariz.; Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and Clemmons, N.C.; will present a free 30-minute clothed table massage to unemployed workers on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

“Times are tough for everyone, especially the many struggling to find jobs right now,” said Hoose. “This is our chance to give back – to provide people, if even temporarily, with an escape from the pressures of the job market and to allow them to relax and focus on taking care of their health.”

The event is open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who visit LaVida to redeem their free massage will be required to bring a proof of unemployment from the state unemployment agency. If demand should exceed available center resources for the day, attendees will receive a voucher to return at a later date to take advantage of the complimentary service.

“LaVida is excited to reach out to the community and help to lift the spirits of the unemployed,” reinforced Hoose. “If this service relieves even the slightest bit of stress or tension from these people’s lives, it will be a success.”
