FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., March 7, 2011—Michigan Lawyers Weekly Magazine has announced today that founding shareholder Michael H. Fabian has been recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a 2011 Leader in the Law. This award honors 25 members of Michigan’s legal community exemplifying the noble tradition of the legal profession by winning cases, solving problems with integrity, inspiring others and displaying passion on behalf of clients and the community.
As part of this prestigious honor, the publication featured a story about Fabian and his more than 30 years of legal experience winning numerous cases that have created groundbreaking national precedent in establishing and protecting the rights of policyholders in insurance disputes. The piece also depicted Fabian as a leader due to his founding of Fabian, Sklar & King, P.C. after he saw a void in legal representation specializing in the needs of the claimants in fire cases, stating Michael H. Fabian’s leadership was borne of simply noticing an underserved niche in the law and owning it.
Today, more than 25 years later, Fabian and his Farmington Hills based law firm remain dedicated to the mission of representing homeowners and business owners in fire, explosion and property damage cases and people who have suffered serious personal injury or death from fires and explosions.
“I knew there needed to be a firm that solely specialized in representing the interests of the policyholder in these claims against the insurance companies,” said Fabian. “You can positively change the lives of thousands of people when you are an advocate for the rights of innocent victims of fires.”
A frequent lecturer and published author, Fabian is an editor of Michigan Insurance Law and Practice and is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, American Bar Association (Tort and Insurance Practice Section), American Bar Association (Property Insurance Committee), State Bar of Michigan, Michigan Association of Justice, American Association of Justice and the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal. He earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law (1978) and his B.A. with honors from the James Madison College of Michigan State University (1975).
Founded in 1986, Michigan Lawyers Weekly is an esteemed publication that provides information on legal rulings, verdicts and settlements, legal opinions, discipline matters and all news vital to attorneys in the state of Michigan.
