Edward J. Paster Wins Minnesota Shopping Center Association Hall of Fame Award

ST. PAUL, Minn., December 23, 2013 – Paster Enterprises, a leading manager and developer of neighborhood shopping centers and multitenant office buildings in the Twin Cities, announced today that former Paster Enterprises president, the late Edward J. Paster, earned the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA) Hall of Fame Award. Howard Paster, president of Paster Enterprises and Edward’s son, made the announcement.

The Hall of Fame honor is rewarded each year to a MSCA member who has shown outstanding participation, leadership and achievement within the MSCA and the retail real estate industry for at least 10 years. Each year, a nominating committee comprised of the MSCA president, first vice president and past president carefully selects the newest inductee from dozens of experienced retail real estate leaders.

“This award is a testament to the long-lasting impact my father’s dedication, expertise and insight had on the shopping center industry, and to his cherished relationships with business partners, tenants, leaders and industry peers over the years,” said Paster. “He touched countless people with lessons about family, business and giving back to the community, and he had a passion for mentoring young people in the field. The Paster Enterprises family is deeply honored by this recognition.”

Edward served as a visionary in the retail real estate industry for more than 50 years, building Paster Enterprises into a market leader in the Twin Cities and serving as a mentor to many before he passed away in January 2012. He got his start sweeping floors and cleaning stores in the family business, where he then grew into construction, sales and leasing management, and eventually worked his way to president. In addition to guiding and growing Paster Enterprises, Edward co-founded the MSCA in 1988, served as MSCA director from October 1991 to December 1993, and remained actively involved as a member after.
