LaVida Massage Undergoes Major Franchise Expansion with Opening of New Company Headquarters and Center in Commerce, Mich.

HOWELL, Mich., February 8, 2010—LaVida Massage, a Howell, Mich.-based massage and wellness franchise, today announced notable expansion plans with the transfer of its Howell, Mich. headquarters to Commerce, Mich. The 5,500 square-foot building will include both the LaVida Massage headquarters and the company’s newest Michigan massage center. The location is currently being built out and is scheduled to open on February 10, 2010. The announcement was made by LaVida Massage Founder John Hoose.

Founded in 2007, the company has undergone significant growth, doubling in size within 2009. In the first month of 2010 alone, LaVida has introduced two new Michigan locations, with plans for continued local and nationwide development in the year ahead. With a favorable business outlook and measured success rates for its franchise, the company identified a need and opportunity to place LaVida and its corporate staff into a space equipped with the capacity to accommodate its continued growth.

Additionally, the Commerce building, located at 3050 Union Lake Road, Unit 3D, in Commerce Township, Mich., will showcase a new massage center opening on the tail of LaVida’s Troy, Mich. grand opening, celebrated just weeks ago on January 9, 2010. The new center will feature 13 treatment rooms offering Swedish, couples, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, Hydro-therapy, Touch-less, chair and corporate massages, as well as a full-range of esthetic services.

Atypical for the LaVida model, the Commerce center will be owned and operated by LaVida Founder John Hoose. Immediately after creating the franchise in 2007, Hoose opened the first LaVida location in Brighton, Mich. under corporate ownership. Poised for additional growth, Hoose determined now to be an ideal and cost-effective time to open additional corporate centers in Michigan.
