Millsap & Singer’s “Casual for a Cause” Charitable Endeavor a Great Success
By: Erin Robinson
ST. LOUIS, Mo., March 18, 2009 — Millsap & Singer, LLC, a St. Louis, Mo.-based law firm serving the mortgage banking industry, announced today the great success of its charitable efforts in 2008, including the firm’s “Casual For A Cause” initiative. Firm Partner Vernon D. Singer made the announcement.
On the first and third Friday of each month in 2008, Millsap & Singer employees were invited to dress casually for work in exchange for a charitable donation. At year’s end, the firm matched the generous donations of the employees, and two organizations were chosen to receive the donations. In December 2008, the Evangelical Children’s Home, a Missouri-based non-profit social service agency that assists troubled adolescents and their families, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the nation’s largest wish-giving organization, were each presented with a check for $3,500. The donations will support a broad range of services, including early education, group homes, outpatient counseling and wishes that provide hope and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
“Both organizations deserve to be recognized for the outstanding work they do throughout the year for children,” said Singer. “It is a privilege to offer donations to such worthy causes. We are proud that the Millsap & Singer employees really came together to make these charitable ventures so successful.”
