ST. LOUIS, Mo., January 29, 2010 — Millsap & Singer, LLC, a provider of high-quality legal representation in the states of Missouri and Kansas, focusing on foreclosure, bankruptcy and mortgage-related litigation, announced today that its annual “Casual For A Cause” charitable initiative was hugely successful in 2009. Firm Partner Vernon D. Singer made the announcement.
On the first and third Friday of each month in 2009, Millsap & Singer employees were invited to dress casually for work in exchange for a charitable donation. At year’s end, the firm matched the generous donations of the employees, and two organizations were chosen to receive the offerings. In December 2009, ECH (Every Child’s Hope, formerly the Evangelical Children’s Home), a Missouri-based non-profit social service agency that assists troubled adolescents and their families, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the nation’s largest wish-giving organization for children with life-threatening illnesses, were each presented with a check for $4,128. The donations will support a broad range of services, including early education, group homes, outpatient counseling and the granting of wishes that provide children with hope and joy.
“Since we began this initiative in 2007, it has been received exceptionally well by the Millsap & Singer staff,” said Singer. “Not only have they embraced the opportunity to come to work in casual attire, but, for us, it is truly an honor to use this program to extend a hand to both of these wonderful organizations for the admirable work they perform for children throughout the year.”
