Benefits Administration Firm Group Associates Hires Director, Human Resources and Director, Business Development

BINGHAM FARMS, Mich., November 5, 2013 – Bingham Farms-based Group Associates, a national human resources outsourcing firm that specializes in employee benefit plan design, implementation and administration, announced today that they have hired Alan Bergmann as Director, Business Development, and Sheryl Simmons as Director, Human Resources. David Zick, president of Group Associates, made the announcement.

With more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience of AFLAC insurance products, Bergman will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the administration of AFLAC insurance benefits for Group Associates’ diverse client base. Most recently, Bergman served as Regional Sales Coordinator for AFLAC, where he helped grow a $2 million region into a $7.4 million region over the span of three years.
As Director, Human Resources, Simmons will oversee all internal human resources activities for Group Associates, including supervising the human resources staff, managing compliance with state, federal and local regulations, and directing the development and implementation of company policies and procedures. Simmons possesses more than 20 years of industry experience and is a member of the Society for Human Resources, the Human Resources Association of Greater Detroit and the American Society of Training and Development.
