Arena District SantaCon Set for Dec. 14

More than 500 Santas expected to turn Columbus into the North Pole for a night 

COLUMBUS, Ohio, November 21, 2013––The Arena District will host its third annual SantaCon bar crawl on Saturday, Dec. 14, beginning at the Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar at 7 p.m. Arena District Spokesperson Tina Guegold made the announcement.

The SantaCon bar crawl, in which attendees will don their best Santa-themed apparel for a night of holiday cheer, will work its way through some of the Arena District’s most popular bars. This year’s event will also feature a variety of prizes, including Arena District gift cards, concert tickets, Columbus Blue Jackets tickets and more. Beverage partner Captain Morgan Black will be on hand at each location serving up hearty refreshments to the jolly partygoers.

“The Arena District’s SantaCon has continued to gain popularity, with more than 500 Santas expected to park their sleighs in the Arena District this year,” said Guegold. “Columbus residents will be seeing red. Every bar stool in the District will be taken by an Old Saint Nick!”

The evening’s lineup includes:

• Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar, 7 p.m. Piano players will serenade Santas with Christmas carols.
• R Bar, 8 p.m. The #1 hockey bar in Columbus will feature a WNCI DJ, and chances for attendees to win great prizes.
• Gordon Biersch, 9 p.m. This location will feature handcrafted German lagers, a second WNCI DJ and a prize wheel.
• Three-Legged Mare, 10 p.m. Guests can close out the night with Sibling Rivalry, a popular sister duo known for singing covers of everything from AC/DC to Rihanna. The winner of WNCI costume contest will be announced at 10:15 p.m.
