AGIS to Host Free Seminar on HIPAA-Related Compliance Issues for Employers and HR Professionals

INDIANAPOLIS, March 4, 2010 – AGIS, a full-service insurance agency in Indianapolis, will host a no-cost informative seminar on HIPAA entitled, “HIPAA and the HITECH Act of 2009” on Thursday, March 25th. Breakfast and registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. with the seminar following from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization, located at 3760 Guion Road in Indianapolis.
This informative seminar will examine a wide range of issues relating to the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and their impact on employers who sponsor group health plans. Anyone who handles a group health plan sponsored by an employer is encouraged to attend. Topics covered will include:
– HITECH Act of 2009
– HIPAA compliance deadlines and obligations
– Easy-to-use compliance tools
Lorenna Siegrist and Leslie Karp, Compliance Advocates at AGIS, will serve as presenters.
General continuing education credit through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) is currently pending.
